Types of Intra Ocular Lens
Implanted lens (Intra Ocular Lens) is an artificial lens that is used as a substitute for the natural eye lens that has cataracts. The types of cropped lenses are distinguished by Monofocal Lenses, Toric Lenses and Multifocal Lenses. Consult an Ophthalmologist to determine the best type of implant lens.
Monofocal Lens
- The most widely used type of IOL, with the same power over the entire lens area
- Provides good vision for a certain distance (especially for long distances)
- Still need reading glasses
- Suitable for patients who are comfortable using reading glasses
Torik Lens
- Fixing refractive errors with astigmatism/cylinder
- After surgery, there is no need to wear glasses with cylinders
- These lenses are available in the form of monofocal lenses and multifocal lenses
Multifocal Lens
- Fixing far, medium, near sight, without using glasses
- Suitable for patients who want to be free from glasses
- These lenses must be used in both eyes
- Users of this lens need a longer adaptation process than monofocal lenses
