• The most widely used IOL, with the same optical power across the entire lens
• Provides good vision at one specific distance, usually far distance
• Still requires reading glasses

Monofocal Lens Sub-types

• Non-Aspheric Lens — corrects distance vision but still carries a relatively higher degree of optical aberration
• Aspheric Lens — delivers better color contrast and visual quality than the Non-Aspheric lens
• Monofocal Plus Lens — beyond distance vision, also supports intermediate vision such as computer use, cooking, or grooming

• After surgery, glasses with cylindrical correction are no longer needed
• Available in both monofocal and multifocal forms

• Corrects far, intermediate, and near vision without needing glasses
• Ideal for patients who want to be completely free of glasses
• Must be implanted in both eyes
• Requires a longer adaptation process than the monofocal lens

• Similar to the Multifocal lens, but with more natural vision
• Clear range from far to intermediate distance is more dominant than near vision
• Designed to reduce glare for more comfortable daily activities
