Affordable Cataract and Astigmatism Treatment for Optimal Vision Outcomes

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 94 million people worldwide experience vision impairment caused by cataracts. In Indonesia alone, data from PERDAMI (2020) shows that over 8 million people suffer from vision problems, with 81.2% linked to cataracts.

This method utilizes the slit lamp, a tool widely available in ophthalmology practice, to achieve accurate lens axis alignment during cataract surgery. DR. Setiyo’s doctoral research at Universitas Gadjah Mada demonstrated that this manual technique can provide outcomes comparable to the CALLISTO Eye® system, making advanced cataract and astigmatism care more accessible to patients.
