About
Dr. Melia Budi Astuti, Sp.M is an ophthalmologist currently practicing at JEC Orbita Eye Hospital and Clinics. She has special expertise in the fields of cornea, dry eye, and external eye diseases. Dr. Melia is experienced in managing a wide range of cases—from red eye and ocular infections to vision problems caused by systemic diseases affecting the cornea and anterior segment.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Melia also handles general ophthalmology cases such as cataract surgery and other anterior segment procedures, including pterygium excision and corneal transplantation for more complex conditions.
Dr. Melia completed her ophthalmology specialist training at the Department of Ophthalmology, Hasanuddin University, in 2023. To deepen her expertise, she undertook a dry eye observership program at JEC Eye Hospital and Clinics and continued her cornea and anterior segment training through an observership at LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India. She then completed a clinical fellowship in external eye diseases at the Cicendo National Eye Hospital in Bandung, which further strengthened her competencies in ocular infection and immunology.
As part of her commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based care, Dr. Melia actively participates in various national and international seminars, trainings, and courses focused on the cornea, dry eye, and external ocular diseases related to infection and immunology. Combining a comprehensive clinical approach with in-depth subspecialty expertise, Dr. Melia is dedicated to providing holistic and high-quality eye care for each of her patients.
