Valenchia, MD is a full-time ophthalmologist at the Jakarta Eye Center. She graduated as a general practitioner with a cum-laude predicate from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, then took an internship in the Sukabumi area of West Java for 1 year. There, she found her passion to become an ophthalmologist after seeing how people have improved their quality of life after cataract surgery. Valenchia, MD underwent ophthalmology education at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia and successfully graduated with the best graduate title according to the Indonesian Ophthalmology College. After that, she continued her fellowship program in Medical Retina field at JEC Eye Hospital. In addition, she has attended a visual electrophysiology symposium and course at the ISCEV congress who sets universal standards for electrophysiological visual examination and workshops on visual field and visual electrophysiology in Lille, France. She also continued her fellowship program in the field of neuro-ophthalmology at the Center Hospitalier Universitaire de Reims-Hospital Robert Debre, France.

Valenchia, MD has also broadened her retinal and neuro-ophthalmology knowledge and abilities through various international seminars and courses such as those organized by the Singapore National Eye Center and the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology.

The scope of her work includes treating patients with general ophthalmological complaints (refractive errors, cataracts, eye infections) and specifically treating patients with complaints of the retina, optic nerve (posterior part of the eye), the connection of the optic nerve and brain. Retinal cases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and complaints of floaters can be handled properly. Likewise, cases of neuro-ophthalmology such as optic neuropathy, optic neuritis, eye position and movement disorders, and pupil disorders are also handled comprehensively together with other specialist colleagues. Although the cases are not always easy, and often require good collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, Valenchia, MD always tries to provide complete information and education so that patients understand the condition of their eyes. In addition to the fields of retina and neuro-ophthalmology, she also studies teleophthalmology and is currently the head of telemedicine at JEC Eye Hospital & Clinic.

Valenchia, MD has also successfully presented various researches and been a speaker at both national and international events. She also realized the importance of continuing to develop knowledge regarding retinal problems and neuro-ophthalmology which are currently developing rapidly. Another thing that is no less important is that she is always willing to provide information and education to the public about eye health and eye diseases.
