DR. Dr. Cosmos Octavianus Mangunsong, SpM(K) is an Opthalmologist at JEC Eye Hospitals and Clinics. His main interest is in Cataract and Vitreoretina disease. His skill and experiences in cataract surgery technique are varied, such as Extra-capsular Cataract Extraction (ECCE), Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) and Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery. Due to his capabilities and years of experiences, he has been well-known in the eye care field to be one of the best ophthalmologists in Indonesia. He has also involved in several community eye health projects, occupational eye disorders study and social works including charity cataract surgery project. He was the head of a project in Indonesian ministry of environmental study about correlation of ozone depletion with eye health. He is currently the Medical Director of JEC in Menteng.

DR. Dr. Mangunsong also has a tremendous passion in vitreoretinal diseases, especially Age-related Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy and Myopic Choroidal Neovascularization. He gained his vitreoretinal knowledge and skills in University of Indonesia and Sun Yat Sen University in Guangdong, China. He uses the gained skills and knowledge he got to widen his expertise in Cataract and Vitreoretina disease. He also participated in anti VEGF therapy clinical trial for Age related Macular Degeneration in China. Professor Tang Shibo and Assistant Professor Ding Xiao Yan were his mentors in China. 

Stem Cell therapy for Retinal disease is his current interest of study. Now, he is working closely with Indonesian Stem Cell Institute for the future use of Mesenchymal stem cell in Retinal Degeneration disease.
