Paramastri Arintawati, MD or simply known as Dr. Rinta, is a full timer ophthalmologist at the JEC Eye hospital. She has special interest in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Her scope of clinical work focused on children eye care, strabismus and cataract. She takes a part in Children Eye Care and Squint Clinic team at JEC.
Dr. Rinta graduated from Department of Ophthalmology, University of Diponegoro and was a former lecturer in strabismus division and former doctor in Kariadi Hospital. She loves teaching and sharing her knowledge and experiences for medical students and ophthalmology residents. For that reason, she was granted to take opportunity for joining Discovery course in medical education “Education within the clinical workplace” in Centre for Medical Education, University of Dundee, Scotland, UK. She also got scholarship to be a research student and joined clinical training in Hiroshima University Hospital, Japan. To pursue higher knowledge and experience in strabismus, she took fellowship in Kirana, Ciptomangunkusumo Hospital. Thereafter, she also took internal fellowship in cataract and pediatric ophthalmology – strabismus in JEC.
As a former doctor in tertiary hospital in Central Java, Kariadi Hospital, Semarang, she has experiences in diagnostic and management of strabismus cases, double vision and ocular motility disorder in child and adult. She also performed strabismus surgeries for horizontal deviation and some transposition surgeries such as Hummelsheim procedure, Yokoyama procedure and split lateral muscle for third nerve palsy. Dr. Rinta has successfully published some papers in national and international journals and presented some presentations in national and international conferences. She is an active participant at national and international professional meetings and conferences. By dedicating her effort in children eye care, she sincerely believes that children comprehensive health care is very important because our children are the hope of our future.
