About

Gitalisa Andayani Adriono, MD joined JEC Eye Hospital in 2005, for the vitreoretinal services, with special interests in diabetic retinopathy and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). She completed her medical education and ophthalmology residency at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI) - Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), where she continued her training in medical and surgical vitreoretina.  She underwent vitreoretina fellowship training from the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute, at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. 

Dr. Gitalisa has represented both JEC and FKUI/RSCM in various national and international meetings, as well as a number of publications. She is a recipient of the APAO Young Ophthalmologist Award and World ROP Congress Travel Grant, and winner of the Ophthalmologist Scientific Paper Contest of the Indonesian Ophthalmologist Association (IOA or PERDAMI).

Besides of doing her practice and vitreoretinal surgeries at JEC, Dr. Gitalisa is active as a lecturer at FKUI, overseeing and teaching undergraduate medical students, ophthalmology residents and clinical fellows. She is currently handling public relations for the IOA, and is involved in collaborative efforts and research, related to a blindness prevention.
